This stunning diamond engagement ring from the 1940s really stands out! It has a nice presence on the finger, not too high and not too flush on the finger. The ring is primarily yellow gold but the diamonds are set and surrounded by white gold. This is a great feature because it accentuates the whiteness of the diamonds. When you look at the ring from the top, it appears to be white gold, yet when looking at it from the side, it appears to be yellow! The six accent diamonds on the side of the ring are a perfect addition to the piece! Adding just enough sparkle so that the eye draws down and away from the center diamond! The center diamond is set in what the industry calls an illusion head. This means that the head (or cup that the diamond sits in) is square in shape. The shape of the head gives the impression that a round diamond is square. The metalwork around the diamond also gives the "illusion" that the diamond is larger than it actually is. These are great features because one can have the look of a princess cut diamond with the light refraction of a round brilliant (rounds are the cut that has the most optimal refraction). The illusion head allows the wearer to have the best light refraction with the look they want! Metal: 14 karat white and yellow gold Center Diamond: Round Brilliant Center = 0.60 carats, SI1 in clarity, G in color Side Diamonds: 6 Diamonds = .08 carats Time Period: 1940s Size of Ring: 7 but can be sized to fit almost any finger (please see our sizing policies for more information).
