This large gentleman's 1960s dress watch is absolutely beautiful and is in excellent running order. Swiss made, 21 jewels, shock proof, antimagnetic. The face is a pale silver with unusual square, chunky raised hour markers - very masculine, while very dressy at the same time. There is a functioning date aperture at 3.O clock and the tips of the hands are coated with luminescent substance to enable you to tell the time in the dark. There is some wear to the gold plating on the left side that is commensurate with age, but this is magnified in the photos and is not as noticeable on the wrist. The matching strap is expandable and is gold-tone stainless steel. ( This strap isn't to everyone's taste, although it compliments's the watch. If you like the watch but would prefer a leather strap please contact me) The watch is rare because these are very difficult to find today. Transglobe, from what I have read, began making watches in the 1930s and the research 'trail' goes cold from the mid 1970s. Swiss watchmakers, they made high-end dress watches and specialised in 'cockpit watches', diving watches and 'driving watches' - they had a fantastic, iconic driving watch that sat at an angle on the wrist, so that you didn't have to take your hand off the wheel to look at the time. All of their watches today are considered collectible and one in as beautiful vintage condition as this is not easy to find. It is running well and keeping accurate time. Measures: 40mm lug to lug x 36mm (excluding crown) POSTAGE FOR THIS WATCH IS FREE OF CHARGE Watch will be posted in a new watch box
