I have made this bag from a combination of upcycled fabric and fabric remnants. The outer of the bag is a fantastically patterned fabric which was a remnant from some upholstery work. It is a stiffer cotton fabric with a coarse weave which adds to the feel and texture of the bag. The pattern is a combination of bright pink flowers and leaves within a diamond pattern of pink lines on a white background. I have fully lined the bag with a light blue remnant, a piece of fabric my grandmother bought and never used. I have used upcycled fabric to line the concealed zip pocket and have repurposed some curtain rings to attach the handle to the bag. The handle is made from the same remnant as the outer of the bag. And the piping which I have added to give definition to the bag and add structure is biased with the same pale blue fabric as the liner. The bag is closed with a loop of thick yarn and a wooden button which is painted with tiny flowers. The bag is a capacious gusseted tote, ideal for a day around town, or an evening out. Internally there are two pockets: a large zip sealed pocket, which is discreetly sewn into the liner, and an unsealed organizer pocket. There one handle which is an ideal length for wearing over one shoulder. There is also a lanyard and hook inside the bag for safely attaching keys to. I have used a stiff, fusible interfacing in the bag to add structure to the bag. Height: 21cm/8.3in Width (at widest) : 30cm/11.8in Depth (at deepest, given by gusset): 8cm/3.1in Strap: 70cm/27.6in (including loops and curtain ring attachments at each end) Please visit my shop to see more bags that I have made.
