For sale is a watch I purchased in the 1980’s that was never worn. I wanted a gold watch, but my lifestyle did not fit the watch. So it’s been stored away for years and is still packed in its original gift box. It’s a beautiful 10KT gold watch that’s a quality timepiece. This watch movement is labeled “Genève†was made in Geneva, Switzerland. They are known for their high quality, top of the line watches. No watch can carry the name unless 50% of the watch was manufactured and assembled in Switzerland. The watch face is matte gold with “Geneve†above the shiny gold hands and “Swiss Movtâ€(Swiss Movement) written at the bottom. It does not have a second hand. The watch face is about 9/16†wide (slightly larger than ½†not including the watch stem), and is about 3/4†long. The crystal on the watch is in perfect condition and set inside the watch face bevel with a decorative fluted border. It is stamped on the back of the watch face with a square jeweler’s mark and “10KT Gold.†At the bottom of the case, it is stamped “U.S.A.†It has a sparkly Bismark 10KT gold chain watch band that is approximately ¼†wide. It is very flexible and drapes nicely around the wrist. For added security, there is a safety loop that attaches to the outside of the hinge clasp. The patent number 4697315 (applied for in 1985) is stamped on the clasp hinge. The patent is for a designed reinforced jewelry clasp to make the clasp tab stronger and less apt to break. There is a small black onyx cabochon on the end of the watch stem. The watch is 6-1/2†long when measured from outside tab on hinge to outside closure box. The watch weighs approximately 8.9 grams (see last photo). This watch will fit about a size 6†or smaller wrist. This is a classic Geneve design of one of their 10KT watches and it is still being manufactured today. About a week ago, I took the watch to a jeweler and just had another battery installed. It’s keeping time and in great working condition. If you have been looking for a 10KT gold watch and have a small wrist, it would be a great buy. It would also be a nice gift for you to start the New Year! Or it would make a great gift for that special someone for Valentine’s Day.
