Mens Watch Sheffield 17J Automatic Tachymetre This is a vintage watch made by the Sheffield company. Mid Century Retro This watch is a type called a tachymetre. The ring around the outside of the bezel rotates and I believe you use it to determine speed based on time elapsed. The watch movement is wind up style that I believe is 17J. I cannot remove the back and the dial says 17J. Movement runs. Dial is in good condition with a date window at 6 o'clock and a sweeping second hand. Raised numbers and hour markers. Case is base metal bezel with stainless steel back. The back reads guaranteed 5atm tested, waterproof, anti magnetic, shock resistant, swiss made. Back shows some pitting. This case must have been considered huge back in the 60's and 70's but is actually sized correctly for today's use. Band is new leather with an embossed lizard design. This watch says waterproof but please have it checked before you use in a wet or damp location. Buyers must have 10 positive feedbacks to purchase. This is due to new buyers being unfamiliar with the vintage watch market. If you fell I should make an exception just contact me. This watch will NOT be running when you receive it. You must wind it to run. This watch does NOT use a battery. This watch IS a vintage timepiece and should be treated as such.
