A mid 19th Century English chronometer in a open face case bearing Brockbank & Atkins, London Gilt half plate key-less movement. Rose diamond endstone, compensation balance with freesprung blue steel helical hairspring. English spring detent chronometer escapement. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, maker's mark "HH" and "ATO" London. Gold cuvette (dust cover).Great HALLMARKS for LONDON 1870. Case diameter is 47mm, overal is 67mm and 16mm thick.Gross weight is 98 grams. There an 18 carat gold weight of 48.8 grams which only includes the Glass (UB) and a small wheel under the Crown.This would only amount to 2-3 grams.
