A very special and beautifully kept 1950s handbag by Waldybag, hand painted white/off white silk, in a great structured shape with gold tone clasp with 2 pearl like stone details on the close. This gorgeous, luxury bag has a hand painted design of multicoloured flowers and foliage in the stunning technique created by Waldybag's H. Wald and Co. using minuscule glass beads applying them to the flowers while the paint was still wet, creating a glistening, textured effect H. Wald and Co. were known for their high quality handbags which were favored by the royal family. Waldybags are in the collection of the Victorian and Albert Museum, London. The interior of this bag shows is in immaculate condition, showing that perhaps it was never used, it still has a sweet little coin purse on chain and vanity mirror in a side pocket which is still wrapped in its original paper! Condition: near perfection!! there is one tiny scuff mark on the exterior which is barely noticeable (it looks as though it is where a sticker or the likes was placed and removed) but this DOES NOT effect the look and quality of the bag. The interior as mentioned is immaculate perhaps unused. Measurements: 9" W (at widest point) 6" H (from base to close) Straps: 13" L (Drop is 5") Gold tone hardware
