I always think it funny when I see someone out in their old jeans and sneakers but wearing a shinny new wristwatch. I love the look of old watches, their aged dials and worn cases. Don't get me wrong, I do like immaculate vintages watches and I have quite a few in my collection but there's a time and a place for every watch. Aged watches should go with old jeans and sneakers. Because of this I thought that I should have an "Old jeans and sneakers" section. Vintage watches that look aged but have quality movements under the bonnet. This jeans and sneakers watch is a Cyma Swiss watch from the mid to late 1940s. This is a 15 Jewel Watersport which is in good vintage condition for over its 65 or so years. It is always difficult to get a precise age of a Cyma watch. Cyma developed and heavily promoted and patented the Cymaflex shock protection system in the early 1950s. This watch does have this version of shock protection bit it is not promoted on the dial, just "shock absorber" so must be a pre-1950s watch. You can see by the photos that the dial has discoloured over the years but it is not unattractive. A great jeans and sneakers watch. It holds gold hour numerals and lovely gold coloured hands with an interesting block style. There is also black sub seconds markers and gold coloured hand at 6. This lovely stainless steel chrome case measures 38mm including lugs and 33mm across not including the crown. The crystal is clear.. This lovely watch has a used but serviceable black leather watch strap fitted.
