This rolled gold plate pocket watch,open face, was made in Switzerland by Buren Watch, Co. It is rather small and slim, shiny and elegant, with Arabic numerals that resemble 1940's typography. My guess is that this watch was made in the early 40's, but I am not certain. The face has a platinum quality and is slightly reflective. The glass cover is unscratched and in very good condition, but the back, gold cover, shows scratches and imperfections from use over time. Behind the back cover there are beautiful -- glistening -- gears and machinery. What's best is that the watch is working condition -- it keeps time well with a nice, quiet "tick." I do not know the history of this piece, but engravings inside the back cover indicate repairs. Approx 1 3/4 " diameter. Engraved Buren Watch Co. S.A.
