What makes this watch so collectible and important is that it features a sweep seconds hand (no longer featured on any Panerais) and was made for only 1 year in 1500 pieces. This watch was replaced by the PAM88 which has now been in production for the past 7 production years and has yet to be altered or changed in any way (aesthetically speaking) since it's release. This watch is a rarity. Many people agree the sweeping seconds hands (without the seconds dial found at 9:00 on the pam88) makes the dial on this watch look less cluttered and more balanced.
